Casaccio Joins Bernardon

Casaccio Joins Bernardon
September 28, 2016

Bernardon is pleased to announce that Lee A. Casaccio, AIA, LEED AP, and the staff of Casaccio Architects, LLC have joined Bernardon to better serve the wide array of valued clients of each firm.

Casaccio Architects was founded over 60 years ago by Mr. Casaccio’s father. Since 1979, Mr. Casaccio led the firm as a Principal and helped to develop a legacy of strong client relationships, responsive service, and designs that are beautiful, cost-effective, sustainable, and adaptable.

“Lee and his team share the passion for design and dedication to great client service that we at Bernardon embrace,” said Kerry R. Haber, President of the firm. “They will mesh seamlessly into our firm culture and we are excited to have them join us.”

Mr. Casaccio was taught from an early age to think strategically about the big picture, and how architecture shapes – and is shaped by – the goals and aspirations of each client. With passion, empathy, and strong client advocacy, he shepherds projects through to completion, ensuring the results inspire and exceed expectations. Some of his notable Philadelphia projects have included Building 26 at the Navy Yard, Chestnut Hill College Gulati Complex, Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, and St. Joseph’s Preparatory School Jesuit Hall and Sauter Dining Hall. Other regional clients include Aqua America, Bryn Mawr Trust, Citadel Federal Credit Union, and Haverford Township Free Library.

“After many years of practice, I have carefully sought the ideal environment for my next steps in architecture,” said Mr. Casaccio of the transition. “I have wanted to identify the architectural firm where I can best honor my father’s 60 year legacy of outstanding architectural innovation and commitment.

“I have also wanted to find in that same firm, and in my new colleagues, the right culture of professional talent and creativity into which I can blend my 35 years of experience leading Casaccio Architects. Just as importantly, that firm would complement and expand our Mission Driven Design™ services with enhanced resources, technologies, and organization. Bernardon is the perfect fit.”

Mr. Casaccio holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, former vice president of its Philadelphia chapter, and former treasurer of its Pennsylvania chapter. He also holds membership in the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Delaware Valley Chapter of APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities, and the Society for College and University Planning.

Bernardon is a regional firm that shares a similar history with the former Casaccio Architects. The firm has operated for over four decades and provides architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture services. Several other regional firms have joined Bernardon in the last 15 years, and the firm recently expanded with the opening of a third office in Center City Philadelphia, where Mr. Casaccio and his colleagues will be working. The firm now operates out of Philadelphia and Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware.
