Bernardon Announces Newest Principal, Michael S. McCloskey

Bernardon is pleased to announce the newest Principal of the firm, Michael S. McCloskey, AIA, LEED AP BD+C. 

Mike joined the firm in 2007 and became Associate Principal in 2015. As Principal, Mike will continue to lead the firm’s Philadelphia office and serve as a vital leader of our design team in the areas of multifamily, mixed use, and urban design.

“Over the past two years, Mike has continued to do an exemplary job in design, project management, and business development,” said Kerry R. Haber, President of the firm. “We are delighted that he has agreed to make this commitment to our firm.”

Mike is a graduate of Drexel University where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree and where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor.  He is a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Delaware Valley Green Building Council, Urban Land Institute, and the American Planning Association.  He also has a special area of interest in smart urban growth and sustainability.

As the firm’s market sector leader for the multifamily residential market, Mike has managed and designed over 5,000 multifamily residential units with a construction value of over $500 million. He has also published several articles about multifamily trends and innovations in the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal, including “The young and the restless: Tailoring your Multifamily product to the right demographics” and “Village Dwelling: A New Innovation for Tackling Small-Scale Urban Infill.”
