Bernardon’s Douglas Lawton Becomes Registered Architect
January 23, 2017

Bernardon is pleased to announce that Douglas S. Lawton, AIA has passed the Architectural Registration Exam and has become a Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Doug joined the Bernardon team in 2007, the year he graduated from Temple University with his Bachelor of Architecture.  Since joining the firm, Doug has gained experience in several areas of design, particularly in the corporate and retail markets. Some projects with which Doug has been involved include the Georgelis Law Firm office in Lancaster, Pa. and the multifamily and mixed-use complex known as Elkton Plaza in Newark, Delaware near the University of Delaware campus. More recently, Doug was involved with the new ifm efector headquarters in Malvern, Pa. and the new 47,000 SF retail center at Bryn Mawr Village in Bryn Mawr.

“I am thrilled to have completed this milestone, and I look forward to continuing my career at Bernardon as a Registered Architect,” said Doug of his achievement. “We have a great team of people at this firm, and having that support system really kept me going through the process. I am looking forward to providing the same support to others in the future.”

Now that he has completed his Architectural Registration Exam, Doug is looking forward to further professional development and achievements by studying to become an Accredited Professional under the Green Building Certification Institute’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Program.

“Doug is a very talented and thoughtful member of our design team,” said Timothy J. Cassidy, a Principal of the firm. “He has a great design sensibility which enables him to envision elegant solutions for complex projects.  Just as importantly, Doug’s affable, respectful, and level-headed disposition allows him to collaborate with the rest of Bernardon team, as well as our clients. We look forward to his continued professional success.”

The addition of Doug brings the firm’s total number of registered architects to 23, the highest number in the firm’s history.
